A Powerful Thunderthon

Since 2005, Georgia College and State University has partnered with Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s through a peer-to-peer fundraising initiative called Dance Marathon. This student-led organization, GC Miracle, raises money for Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital. GC Miracle fundraises with Macon Bacon during the summer, hosts a 5K in the fall, holds a fun event titled Miracle Man, and many more events that benefit our Children’s Hospital.

On Saturday, May 6th, GC Miracle hosted their annual Dance Marathon event, Thunderthon. This event was held at the Centennial Center in Milledgeville and lasted for 12 hours! There were almost 300 registered participants for Thunderthon and they were able to do many activities from Sharks and Minnows to relaxing in the massage chair. At the conclusion of the event, GC Miracle announced their amazing total of $70,550.51!

We are very thankful for these students and their dedication to philanthropy. They are changing lives at Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital!
