Bearthon and Thunderthon: Two Campuses, One Cause

Each year, students across Middle Georgia come together to support local families through MU Miracle at Mercer University and GC Miracle at Georgia College & State University, two student-led organizations that raise funds for Atrium Health Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital.

During the 2024-2025 school year, both organizations hosted a variety of campus-wide events, from bake sales, raffles and blanket making to Miracle Mile walks, pickleball tournaments, and push days. These efforts built momentum throughout the year and brought their respective communities together for a powerful cause.

Each school capped off a year of fundraising with their own signature dance marathon event, Bearthon at Mercer University and Thunderthon at Georgia College & State University. Students heard moving stories from Miracle kids and their families, took part in spirited activities like scavenger hunts and karaoke challenges, and joined in interactive fundraising moments that made a lasting impact.

At the end of their events, student leaders revealed the incredible totals raised of $81,025.62 for GC Miracle and $36,277.24 for MU Miracle, celebrating a year of passion, purpose, and community in action.

MU Miracle and GC Miracle continue to inspire through every event, every dance, and every donation. We are proud of their dedication and thankful for the difference they make for local kids and families.
